Brooklyn born Richard Heinrich has been a metal sculptor for almost sixty years and his work has been shown in New York, Chicago, Norway, Australia, Japan and China. The Gigue series was an attempt to make dense sculptures that are also light and playful. They incorporate blind welding from the interior of the parts by cutting holes and then welding them together from the inside. The surface is finished by soaking the piece in sulfuric acid and then wasing the subsequent piece. This is 4 in a limited series of 6. This work is 10 inches high, 8 inches wide and 5 - ½ inches deep made of painted and welded steel.
